EatOrNot AI Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 9, 2026. EatOrNot AI is operated by Micavo. This policy explains how the app handles account, food, health, AI analysis, and subscription data.

1. Information We Collect

EatOrNot AI may collect the following information when you use the app:

  • Account information, such as your sign-in identifier from Apple or Google.
  • Profile information you provide during onboarding, such as age, gender, height, weight, goal, activity level, diet style, and coaching preference.
  • Food analysis inputs, such as food photos or food descriptions you submit for analysis.
  • Food log data you choose to save after confirming a meal.
  • Usage and quota information, such as daily analysis count and entitlement status.
  • Purchase and subscription status from RevenueCat and the App Store.

2. Apple Health Data

With your permission, EatOrNot AI may read Apple Health data such as active energy, basal energy, steps, sleep, HRV, walking speed, and related health context.

EatOrNot AI uses this data only to calculate your dynamic energy budget and personalize nutrition coaching. EatOrNot AI does not sell Apple Health data, use it for advertising, or share it with data brokers.

3. AI Food Analysis

When you request a food analysis, your submitted image or food description, nutrition context, locale, and relevant health context may be sent to cloud services to estimate calories, macros, and an EatOrNot AI recommendation.

Analysis results may include estimated calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat, fiber, remaining budget, decision status, and coaching text. AI nutrition estimates are informational and may be inaccurate.

4. How We Use Information

  • To provide food analysis and EatOrNot AI recommendations.
  • To calculate daily calorie and macro context.
  • To show 7-day trends, weekly scores, and Premium coaching insights.
  • To manage free, Pro, and Premium feature access.
  • To improve reliability, prevent abuse, and provide support.

5. Camera, Photos, Microphone, and Speech Recognition

EatOrNot AI may request access to your camera or photo library so you can submit food images for analysis. EatOrNot AI may request microphone and speech recognition access so you can describe meals by voice. Voice input is used to convert your spoken meal description into text for food analysis. You can deny or revoke these permissions in iOS Settings.

6. Notifications

With your permission, EatOrNot AI may send notifications such as reminders, coaching prompts, or app-related updates. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings.

7. Analytics and Diagnostics

We may collect usage, analytics, diagnostic, and crash-related information to understand app performance, improve reliability, prevent abuse, and evaluate feature usage. This may include events such as food analysis completion, paywall views, subscription flow events, and error states.

8. Third-Party Services

EatOrNot AI may use third-party services for authentication, cloud storage, AI processing, analytics, crash reporting, and subscription management.

  • Apple Sign In and Google Sign-In for account access.
  • Firebase and Google Cloud Functions for backend services and data storage.
  • OpenAI or similar AI providers for food analysis and coaching generation.
  • RevenueCat and Apple App Store systems for subscription status and purchase validation.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain account, food log, quota, and subscription-related data for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain app security.

You may request account or data deletion by contacting support@micavo.app. We may need to retain limited records where required for legal, fraud-prevention, or payment reasons.

10. Your Choices

  • You can deny or revoke Apple Health permissions in iOS Settings.
  • You can choose whether to submit a food photo or text description.
  • You can choose whether to confirm and save a food analysis to your food log.
  • You can manage subscriptions through your Apple ID subscription settings.

11. Data Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

EatOrNot AI provides informational nutrition coaching and is not medical advice. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before making major diet, health, or weight-management decisions.
